WASHINGTON — April 7, 2026 — Affordable Skies announced today that its President and Executive Director, Jennifer C Rykaczewski, has been appointed to the Aviation Consumer Protection Advisory Committee (ACPAC) by U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

ACPAC advises the Department of Transportation on matters impacting airline passengers, including consumer protections, airline practices, and the overall travel experience.

Rykaczewski’s appointment brings the voice of the consumer into policymaking discussions at the national level.  “Travelers live this system every day, but their perspective hasn’t always had a consistent place in these discussions,” said Rykaczewski. “This is an opportunity to bring real experiences forward and make sure they are part of how decisions are shaped.”

“Affordable Skies has quickly become a meaningful voice for travelers across the country,” said Amy (Key) Camp, Advisory Council Member at Affordable Skies. “This appointment reflects the importance of bringing real traveler perspectives into national conversations that shape the future of air travel.”

Since launching in December 2024, Affordable Skies has focused on research, education, and advocacy aimed at strengthening the role of traveler voices in the future of aviation. The organization engages directly with travelers across the country through virtual socials and other interactive platforms, gathering insights on affordability, delays, added fees, and the overall travel experience.

This appointment reflects a broader shift toward including consumer voices alongside airlines, airports, labor, and regulators as the future of air travel continues to evolve.

Rykaczewski will serve as one of four members of ACPAC, contributing to discussions that help inform federal aviation policy and consumer protection efforts.
