David Milliron is the founder and travel advisor behind Ironmill Travel, a full-service agency specializing in thoughtfully planned vacations, cruises, complex itineraries, and group travel. A frequent traveler for more than 40 years, he brings a practical understanding of how airline schedules, connections, accommodations, transfers, and other moving parts shape the traveler’s experience. His work focuses on helping clients make informed decisions, reduce avoidable risk, and navigate disruptions with greater confidence.

David’s perspective is informed by an unusually broad career spanning investigative journalism, technology, business development, higher education, and public-sector leadership. He began as a newspaper reporter before moving into data-driven investigative journalism with Gannett News Service, where his work supported USA TODAY and approximately 90 daily newspapers across the company’s national network. He also helped launch usatoday.com and trained thousands of journalists in statistical analysis, digital research, and mapping techniques. He later held senior editorial and technology leadership roles at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, served as an adjunct professor at Emory University, and helped lead the rapid growth of a Silicon Valley technology company.

For nearly two decades, David has also led local governments through complex financial, operational, economic-development, and community challenges. His experience in public service, communications, data analysis, technology, and organizational leadership gives him a distinctive perspective on air travel—not only as a consumer experience, but as a system in which safety, affordability, reliability, transparency, and effective problem-solving must work together.
